As the owner of a nonprofit organization (Social Samaritans, Inc.) I know firsthand the importance of donations and awareness. I run a nonprofit in order to give back to my community and as much as I love working in the FinServ market, I love helping those in need in my community just as much!
#GivingTuesday will be celebrated November 29, 2016, and is a way to balance all the spending of Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday with a way to give back to those organizations you love and care so much about. But you might be wondering, “How can I help my nonprofit clients?”
You can point your nonprofit clients to Classy’s website to unlock free #GivingTuesday resources to help them plan an awareness project around their passion. By simply visiting: http://go.classy.org/free-giving-tuesday-resources-for-nonprofits-classy they will have access to:

Why would I do this?
More advisors are asking me for ways they can help their clients be better at their business. This, in turn, means you build your know-like-trust factor and loyalty is a great way to build retention within your firm.
You do not HAVE to offer this type of assistance as a financial advisor, but wow, is it ever a helpful and very nice thing to do.
How important is #GivingTuesday?
Last year (2015), more than $116,000,000 was raised globally on #GivingTuesday. It’s a massively important day of donations to the world of nonprofit. Organizations and individuals can go to https://www.givingtuesday.org/ and find ways to help use their time, talent, and resources to expand a movement.
The #GivingTuesday site also has a toolkit available for 501(c)3 charities and can register their organization on the website so people can find volunteer opportunities as well as make a donation.
Giving back comes in many forms. Spending some time to reach out to your nonprofit clients or organizations in your neighborhood to make them aware of these incredible opportunities will not only make you feel good about helping another person, but you might be making a real contribution to their bottom-line along the way.
